Well it is without a doubt official, Pokémon Platinum will be released in Japan in the fall of this year. You can check out the game’s official website here. Still no word on when an English release will occur. I will be checking the site for updates.

So I posted a while back about how awesome the Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle was going to be. Since the game’s release is getting closer, Konami has officially announced the contents of the bundle.
Now rather than the package coming with an 80GB PS3, it will be coming with a 40GB PS3, which features a lack of backwards compatibility. Sign me up! But wait–there’s more! the rumored price tag of $499.99 has been slashed to a robust $599.99.
So again let us break down the contents to decide if this is a good deal:
| Product | Retail Price | Bundle Price |
| Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition | $84.99 | $100.00 |
| Dual Shock III Controller | $54.99 | $100.00 |
| 40 GB Playstation 3 | $399.99 | $399.99 |
| Total Price | $539.97 | $599.99 |
So what about this bundle gives you an extra $60.02 incentive? I have no idea, all I know is I won’t be purchasing it come June 12th.
*NOTE* Purchasing the package in individual parts will get you an extra Sixaxis controller. Also, Gamestops do NOT take reservations on the MGS4 Bundle, but they DO take them on the Limited Edition version of the game.

As many die-hard Atlus fans know all to well, Persona 2: Innocent Sin will most likely never be making its way to the West. In Japan Persona 2: Innocent Sin was released prior to Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, and while the stories were different, they still had many cohesive elements which created one great gaming experience.
Only the later chapter; Eternal Punishment, was localized in America. The former; Innocent Sin, is considered by most fans of the series to be the better of the two, but still Atlus has refused to bring it over. There is hope on the horizon for us poor English speakers, however.
A fan of the series going by the psuedonym Gemini has begun the incredulous task of creating a translation patch of the entire game. All menus, all characters and spells, all story and dialogue… Did I mention incredulous?
Currently his translation is at 68%, and Gemini believes it is possible to have it completed around Christmas. The patch will allow fans to create burned versions of the game entirely in English as well as run the game on PSX emulators.
If you are as excited as I am (but not nearly as poor) you should check out his site and show your support!
*NOTE* Be weary of a flood of overpriced burned copies of the game appearing on e-Bay–it may be cheaper to make your own.

I translated all of this info from a Japanese Disgaea wiki, which is very informative. The Warrior class is one of the initial classes of Disgaea 3, but that doesn’t take anything away from its value. A solidly equipped Valkyrie or Warrior created early in the game will serve you well right up into the post-game.
When deciding whether to go with the Valkyrie or Warrior, the main question to consider is what weapon you are more interested in incorporating into your party. Judging by their rank 6 Evilities, it’s clear that the male Warrior is best equipped with an Axe, and the Valkyrie is best equipped with a Spear. Axes can be tricky, since they miss often, and have few special attacks which hit multiple targets. Spears are more accurate, offer a range increase, and have more area-affecting skills. Axes can do more damage than Spears to a single target (assuming the Axe doesn’t miss), making them great for cutting down bosses, but hard for fast leveling.
It is interesting to note that in my Disgaea 3 guide, performing the maximum damage is not possible without a Valkyrie and an Orc. The Orc (which has max stats) performs a Magichange allowing the Valkyrie to wield it. The Valkyrie has max stats, including maximum possible movement. She takes 10 steps increasing her attack by 100%.
Check back for more info as I am always on the lookout for news on Disgaea 3.

This is a higher quality image of the scan which has created the buzz around the possible announcement of Pokémon Platinum. After being able to see it up close, I have to agree it does seem like Pokémon Platinum will be officially announced soon (within the month). According to the scan, the game will be released in the fall.
The quote on the right-hand side reads: “Platinum is opening the door to a new adventure!”. There is more text above Giratina’s head which says “Giratina: Original form”.
While I am excited to get a better scan, it doesn’t seem like the male protagonist has gotten much of a style upgrade. According to the scan, it looks like he’s just getting some color moderations. Oh well, I guess we’ll have to put up with that damn berét for one more game.
