Yesterday Aksys Games announced plans to publish the Vita port of Vanillaware’s Muramasa: The Demon Blade, entitled Muramasa Rebirth. The game’s localization will be entirely redone by Aksys Games (Ignition Entertainment handled the original). In addition to enhanced controls, Muramasa Rebirth touts the full original stories of both Momohime and Kisuke as well as four additional DLC characters. While an official site for the game has launched, there is no estimate on the game’s release date.
The original Muramasa for the Wii was one of the system’s more mature titles — it was also quite beautiful. I’m glad to see that Muramasa will enjoy a “rebirth” on a modern system, especially one that needs more quirky Japanese titles like this. Thanks to Aksys Games for bringing it over!
