Breakfast a la Mao

Our adventure into the world of video-game-themed-food continues with a Disgaea 3 themed breakfast.  I don’t know why, but NIS games just remind me of food…  Maybe because they are so life sustaining, I am not sure.

As I mention in the video, I got the idea from Mao’s conflict over how to eat a dragon’s egg which is required for opening his heart.  For some reason he really loathes soy sauce on eggs and instead prefers hot sauce.  Sadly our local grocers does not sell dragon’s eggs, but here are the ingredients we used per single breakfast made:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice of bread
  • 1 slice of cheese of your choice (we used American, go America!)
  • 1 slice of a fresh pepper, any color (we used orange, go O.C!)
  • hot sauce, soy sauce, or any condiment you enjoy

I was really surprised that our bizarre concoction was actually quite tasty and easy to make, even for the most unskilled chef.  We were able to somehow cook it on a makeshift hot plate while kneeling in front of Foxes’s Macbook.

I am not really sure of the significance of the pepper, I just thought it was a cool addition and a neat way to shape the egg.  If nothing else it is a good way to add vegetables to your breakfast.  Originally I wanted to use red, or green which are colors that remind me more of a dragon, but they were all too small so we went with orange.

Anyway I hope you guys give it a try and enjoy it.

And finally, E3.  You heard right (which you probably know already if you follow me on Twitter), Kotowari is planning on going to E3 this year.  It’s not looking cheap though, since I am about as far from LA as you can be in the continental US.  Sadly, I had to tap into the move-to-California-fund, which pained me greatly.  Anyway, Foxes created a donations page if anyone wants to help the cause.
