English self proclaimed designerds, Bag of Bees, have released a pair of tee-shirts themed after Half Minute Hero.  Both are available for 18 GBP or around $30 USD.  There is shipping available for both Europe and America so everyone can purchase this pixely goodness.  American consumers should bare in mind that the cost for shipping is also calculated in GBP meaning you’ll wanna convert that price as well.  Just to give you an idea, delivery to my address came to 5 GBP or around $8 USD.  Ultimately it’s not a bad price for a truly unique shirt to celebrate a truly unique game.  Personally I prefer the red shirt on the left since it focuses a bit more on the game’s art.

The whopping four disc soundtrack to Final Fantasy XIII was released in Japan last week.  The series is well known for exceptional scores, which is probably why such a lavish collection was possible.  The OST boasts 85 total tracks with some fancy packaging to boot.  For more details you can check out the official website of the soundtrack here.

Bleak Harvest was nice enough to provide me with a link to download the OST and I figured it was only fair to perpetuate his kindness by linking to it here on the site.  I highly recommend giving it a listen since this will be the most complete soundtrack the game will receive.  The one bundled with the PAL special edition certainly pales in comparison.

For the sake of completion I have included both the Japanese and English tracklisting which can be found below.  Enjoy and if anyone wants to stick a mirror in the comments be my guest!

Composer: Masashi Hamauzu

I really feel bad constantly writing about such expensive shit.  I know times are tough, especially with a long year of must-own games stretching out in front of us…  But this Odin figure may be the last piece of Final Fantasy XIII memorabilia this year, with an estimated release of sometime in July.  By that time, most of you will have already bought the game and decided if it’s uber-lame or not.  Anyway, the going price on Amiami is 15,550 yen which is a discounted price believe it or not.  That translates to roughly $170 USD.

Surprisingly enough, I was able to find the figure on Kidnemo for $159.99 which is less than the price in Japan — that is a rarity.

In addition to being able to transform between Odin and Odin’s gestalt mode, the blades can be used by the Play Arts Lightning figure.  How is that for cohesion?  I assume she can also ride on the gestalt horsey but since I don’t know the joint capabilities of these figures it’s hard to say for sure.  A better question may be can Lightning even stand while holding those blades?

I realize some of you may have suffered mild sticker-shock from the two Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker bundles I posted about last week.  I can completely understand not being able to slap down $3-400 in these difficult times.  Well, I think I may have found a happy medium: Hori’s accessory set themed after the game.

Included in the set is the following:

  • MGSPW PSP pouch (holds two UMDs)
  • MILITAIRES SANS FRONTIERES face cover (compatible with 2000 and 3000 series)
  • Dog tag screen cleaner strap
  • Decal sheet

This bundle costs a mere 2,680 yen, which would be around $30 USD.  It’s already available on Play-Asia for pre-order for $34.90 which is a tad inflated, but not too bad considering.

I really like this pouch and prefer it to both of the ones included in the more expensive sets.  If I didn’t already have a case, I would definitely grab this bundle.  I can vouch for the quality of Hori cases since I have had mine since the 2000 series launched and it’s still going strong.

I am not too crazy about the face cover since those things remind me of a dumpster lid, but if that’s your thing then there you go.

Recently, Atlus’s D-Shop updated to includes a few holiday inspired goodies, which combine nicely to help make your holidays a little warmer.  If I were financially err… comfortable I would consider purchasing them all but since I am not I will just write about them!

Above is a frosted glass candle holder set featuring Jack Frost’s mug on one side, and a big snowflake on the rear.  The set includes two candle holders and 2 lavender scented candles.  I image that Jack Frost smells like lavender…  You can check out more images of the set here.  The price is 1,575 yen, or around $20 USD.

The next items is probably the most appealing to me and also the most expensive.  It’s a Jack Frost themed nabe set.  Nabe is a Japanese hotpot dish which is actively assembled in a large clay pot (left) usually over an open flame.  Diners then ladle out what they want into smaller bowls (right), eat, and the process repeats.  It’s a lot of fun, delicious, and really great during the winter!

This awesome set of 2 bowls, spoons, and a clay pot (with lid) all adorned with Jack Frost will run you 5,500 yen or $65 USD.  You can check it out here.

Another arguably effective way to warm up is with a glass of distilled spirits!  Whether you prefer champagne, mead, or grog — any manner of beverage is more festive in these fluted glasses.  The upper portion of the glass features the same snowflake designs on the candle holders.  Also, It may be a bit difficult to see but at the bottom there is again a Jack Frost logo.

The set of two flutes glasses costs 3,300 yen, or around $40 USD.  As with the others, more images can be found here.

If you want to buy any of these as a gift, or for yourself (greedy bastard) I again recommend Celga since there are no sites which ship directly to the West.  You’ll definitely incur a healthy shipping fee with the nabe set since I imagine it’s quite heavy.  The others would probably be relatively reasonable.

I didn’t get around to making a post on gift ideas this year, so lets pretend that’s what this is!
