Demon’s Souls Coming to U.S. This Fall: Bless Your Souls, Atlus

SOULS

Oh Atlus, you have surely made a wise business decision today by announcing that you will be bringing the critically acclaimed Demon’s Souls to North America.  This game is being hailed as the first great RPG-exclusive for the PS3 (which basically means this gen) and ever since it received an English version in Hong Kong, import copies have been flooding in through eBay and the like.

I have been on the fence when it comes to importing Demon’s Souls for a while now.  Between having a bunch of other stuff to play and not particularly enjoying being shafted on import costs, I decided to wait.  Boy, am I glad I did!  One of my major concerns was that an import copy would not work online with other NA copies, meaning if it were localized, I would miss out on a key feature of the game.  This concern may be paranoid, but I am still glad I waited.

We have until Fall for the game to be released over here, but Atlus has not given a concrete release date yet.  At first I was like “WTF IT’S ALREADY IN ENGLISH! ATLUS GET THE LEAD OUT”, but then I remembered I have a lot of shit on my plate (Devil Summoner 2 is staring at my pretty pissed off I haven’t touched it yet) so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.  It also gives me plenty of time to study up on the game and plot out my character.

This game is all about character customization, similar to Oblivion: Elder Scrolls and other games in that vein.  If you want to study up like me, this wiki should definitely help.  I will be pouring over it at work for the next few months…  Oh my god, I am so excited.
