Disgaea 2 For PSP Gets 2 New Units
I was very pleased to learn that the port of Disgaea 2 for the PSP will include two of my favorite units to grace any NIS title. Both units were (for some reason) not included in the original PS2 version. The first is the female version of the Samurai jobclass, who was in both Disgaea 1 and 3. In the place of the female Samurai, Disgaea 2 introduced us to the male version, who tried hard but just wasn’t as cool.
To Nutgarden05’s chagrin, the other character being added is the noble Saber Kitty. NG5 hates this particular unit with a passion. In my opinion, there are definitely some units more deserving of such unbridled loathing. Who the hell actually uses the flower girl things?
If they ever give the Saber Kitty a decent area-affecting skill I would be even happier. While they are capable of dishing out decent damage to individual units, post-game my Saber Kitty always lags behind units who can kill several targets at once.
I am still not positive if this is enough incentive to purchase the game. My accomplishments by the end of Disgaea 2 may be too damn staggering to ever attempt to recreate. Considering NIS frequently teases their fans for the hours they put into their titles, you would think they would try to facilitate some kind of data transfer option. Maybe I will just try to play the game casually for Axel mode… Am I capable of that?
