Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice Postgame
Part 1. Character Management (basic)
To really begin to tackle the post-game goodies in Disgaea 3, I recommend first getting your team stronger and more focused. When I beat the game, I had about 15 characters I was using on and off. If you have your final team planned out, but the classes are not yet available to you yet, focus on unlocking them first. Weed out the units you cannot count on. A Thief is a must!
You may want to have your characters spend some time as a Cleric so they can learn some healing spells. This is a much easier method than the class world at this point.
Transmigration/Reincarnation is extremely important for non-story, human-type characters. It is the only way to unlock higher level weapon abilities for human characters. It also increases equipment aptitude which is always good.
Do not transmigrate/reincarnate monster class characters until they have learned all of their abilities. Their rank has no bearing on the abilities they learn, only evilities.
Early in the post-game your chatacters may lack skills with a large area effect. If this is the case your best bet for leveling is taking on characters as close to your level as possible. You may want to pass a few “Stronger Enemy” bills at home room.
Try to grind as much as you can early on to build up some levels and Hell. If you have a stockpile of Hell or useless equips lying around, now is the best time to spend/sell! Max out your store rank and if possible equip you team with the best equips money can buy.
*NOTE* Hold onto low ranking rare items or equips, which will be used later. They aren’t worth much hell anyway.
Part 2. Item World Preparation
Now your characters are about where they should be for their level, but that is hardly acceptable. It’s time to jump into those items and start gaining an edge. When it comes to braving the item world there are a few units which will come in handy:
Always bring at least 1 Mr.Gency Exit, and at low levels you may want to pack SP healings items.
Part 3. Item World Clearing
I suggest starting your item worlding with weapons. Having high level weapons helps level up, pass bills by force, defeat gatekeepers, item gods etc. Every floor NOT divisible by 10 in the item world should follow this flow chart:
When in the Item World, watch for green treasure chests. These are great because they are guaranteed to be rare, and you don’t actually need to clear the stage to reap the reward. You can check the bonus list, but odds are the item won’t be worth the time. Stealing won’t be worth it until the Land of Carnage, so unless you see something you have to have, conserve on those decent hands.
Part 4. Weapon Development
Save up your rare weapons and basically repeat the process of getting them as high level as you comfortably can. I know this boarders on tedious but you will be getting pirate ships, tickets, EXP and mana which will all help in the long run.
After weapons, I personally like to work on emblems like Testament etc. I prefer them to armor only items since they add to all stats including HP and SP.
Part 5. Character Management (advanced)
Once your party is fully equipped with boosted gear, they should have a large quantity of mana to burn. If you are using story characters, or any character that lacks the rank 5 or 6 weapon skill, now is the time to transfer skills in the Class World.
Before you can do this you need to have a character with the desired skill. For example, I wanted to transfer Big Bang onto Mr. Champloo. I had to train a Fight Mistress up to rank 4 so she could learn it. Once you have the ability on someone, put the two units in the same club. Now onto the class world.
The class world can be reached by passing the law to create a Student Council and placing someone in that club. Now Sir Pri will begin to randomly appear at the academy after a battle or a floor in the item world. He is like the Item World equivalent of the Thief by the Dimensional Gate, only Sir Pri appears at random times, in random places. Sweet afro, huh?
Transferring skills requires a mana cost of 10 times the cost at which the ability was learned. Big Bang for instance cost 4,800 mana for my Fight Mistress to learn, so I needed 48,000 mana on Mr.Champloo before I could do that.
For this I highly recommend creating a level 300 manager. It may also be good to put the unit in the Robber Shop club, and surrounding it by other characters in your party. You can lower the cost a bit to transfer the skill a bit by destroying all geo-blocks on each floor of the academy world.
Skills with a large area of affect are the most desirable when it comes to training. Here are a few decent ones:

In addition to these skills, there is also good old reliable magic, which guarantees a character to have the 3×3 square. If you want to have a high level spell, this can cost a tremendous amount of mana. Again, for this goal you’ll want the combo of a high level manager and that character in the Robber Shop club, surrounded by other characters you consistantly use.
Part 6. Reverse Pirating and The Almighty Statician
Now you have the potential to get your levels pretty high. But if you want your level to be really high you’ll need a level 300 statician, which grants an additional 300% more exp.
I recommend getting your party to around level 500 before starting this step.
This is where those low level rare items and equips will come in handy. Get 2-3 of these items to level 80 and then leave. Don’t go any lower into the items than 80 (this too will make sense in the next step). Don’t worry about the stats of these items, you don’t even need to kill Item Bosses or acquire level spheres.
Once you have the 2-3, low rank, level 80 items, it’s time to pirate. Before getting into your pirate ship, pass all available “Weaker Enemy” bills.
After all of your time spent in the item world you should have a nice collection of ships. I like ships that stay around 3 turns or more, but it’s up to you which you choose. Since the items we will be pirating in are level 80, you can perform reverse pirating missions 4 times per item (on every 20 floors).
You should be able to kill enemies in the items if necessary, and be able to take some blows. If you cannot, find a lower ranking item. For some reason enemies in reverse pirate missions are quite high level.
Enter the reverse pirate floor, and check all the specialists that appear. If there aren’t any staticians, restart and try again. This can get a tad tedious, but I swear you only need to make 1 level 300 statician.
You may notice that the specialists are as far as possible from your ship. You DO NOT want to kill these specialists; you want to throw them on your boat before it takes off. This requires a long line of throwers or monsters which can throw-receive. I recommend using a Masked Hero, or Asagi to be the point man which actually first lifts the specialist. This is because they have flying and can easily scale high surfaces and go over enemy units.
Once you sit one or more staticians on your ship, either kill all enemy units, or simply run down your turns. You will notice that the statician’s level will double after he has been acquired. Repeat this process, combining the staticians, until you attain a level 300 statician.
*NOTE* This process works for all of the rare specialists including weapon specific ones such as Lumber Jack, Fencer, etc. The level and rank of the weapons can be altered however.
Part 7. The Puppy Paw Stick: How to Rip Open Disgaea 3
Your next goal is to acquire a Puppy Paw Stick. There are two ways to go about doing this, one requires your team to be rather high level, so I will skip that for now.
The other involves those level 80 items which we used to acquire our statician. Again, you want to make sure all of the “Weaker Enemies” bills have been passed for this one, and you’ll want a thief that is about level 500.
There is a group of Pirates, called the Kit Cat pirates. Their leader always shows up equipped with a puppy paw stick. This particular group of pirates, only shows up on floors 81-99. Luckily you have 2 or 3 items right at that floor don’t you! Hop in there and hunt pirates by waiting 1-2 turns, and then clearing.
This may be simple superstition, but I like to carry all of my illegal tickets on me which I believe riles up the pirates and makes them more likely to appear. Again, it’s probably dumb, but I do it anyway.
If you arrive at the 99th floor, and the Kit Cat pirates don’t appear, you can restart. The only reason I think it’s good to have more than one is if you stumble upon a really great item or an Illegal Room you can save and start in the next item.
Once they appear, get your thief down there and swipe that paw! I was in a level 9X Imperial Seal, and my level 500 Thief had a 97% chance of stealing (with a great hand) it from the leader which was roughly the same level.
Now that you’ve done all this your hours must be in the triple digits huh? Don’t give up, it’s about to get interesting.
Part 8. Duplicating Items and Specialists With Your New Puppy Paw Stick
In case you were not aware, Puppy Paw Stick (PPS) has an inherent ability which steals equipment off of defeated enemies at a 20% success rate. This may not sounds like the most exciting ability, and frankly it only has one real use: Item Duplication.
The trick to this is simple. When in the Class World there is a chance that a Dropout will appear. A Dropout is a clone of the character you are currently inside of right down to their equipment. Entering the Class World does not require mana, and there are no level limitations, so you can enter with whom ever you want. If you land the finishing blow with the PPS, you may receive a free copy of the item equipped on that clone. That copy will also include all resident specialists as well. Awesome right!
First I recommend compiling your strongest specialists into one entity and moving them (definitely include your 300 Statician) onto the item you want to duplicate. It doesn’t hurt to level it up a bit, but you don’t want to level it too high. Keep in mind you will need to kill the wearer with the PPS which is not very powerful. Mine only has around 1000 ATK.
It has been confirmed that if the wielder of the PPS uses magic to land the finishing blow, the item can still be acquired. Credits for this discovery go to djpubba. If you have a strong human mage character, this is a great job for them. Still, don’t get your Baal Sword to level 100 and expect to steal it no problem.
Selecting the individual who enters the class world is up to you really. I opt for low level characters with the lowest possible equipment aptitude. That means mages… Lastly make sure they are only equipped with the one item you want, to eliminate the possibility of getting an unwanted item.
Run through the Class World until you are successful. Just make sure you don’t miss Dropouts! The game does not alert you to their presence like a specialist or Item Boss. If you press triangle, and then go to characters, and then hit up, the character at the bottom of the list will be the Dropout if they are there. Credits for this method go to Doublejumpbooks.
One you get some copies, fuse your specialists to double their level, and repeat the process until you are a hyper-omega-terror.
