Y’know how you wish Ni no Kuni handled the whole defending or evading thing? A title called Black Rock Shooter: The Game actually does it that way.

You’ve never played Fire Emblem before, huh? The weapons having only a limited amount of use has always been in the games, at least the ones released in America. I think I read it’s supposed to make it more realistic as weapons don’t last forever, but I understand how annoying it can be, especially when grinding and having to buy more weapons, but it makes having to manage how you use them part of the strategy of the game.

Also whenever you partner up with another unit they only have a certain chance that they might attack that shows up as a percentage before you go into battle. The percentage goes up as your supports with them goes up (as does the chance they might shield you.) If you want to train a unit it’d probably be easier to pair them up with a character like Kellam who will give them a good amount of defense and strength bonus. Hopefully you give it another chance! (Sorry for rambling.)

I love Small Talk, keep them coming!

Yes, this is indeed my first Fire Emblem. I\’m enjoying it but as far as SRPGs go, I\’m amazed at how far removed it is! Thanks for the tips about partnering up characters, I will try to pay attention to that next time. I love the feature, just struggling to make use of it. Sounds like I need to decide on some character pairings…

Looking back at my first message I’m hoping I didn’t come off as a rude know-it-all. I only got into the series a year ago so I’m no expert or anything.
You made some good points about characters dying in this game. They market it as part of the game, but so many features rely on character relationships so you can’t really afford to lose anyone…
Also yeah, it seems silly when someone you’re partnered up with doesn’t attack so they just run back and forth with you. It’s kind of funny. It seems kind of mandatory at times to stay partnered up with other units as well. I kind of don’t like that. It’s still a fun game and I hope you keep us posted if you decide to stick with it!
(Also, as Fire Emblem was the only SRPG series I’d ever played, so when I bought Phantom Brave recently I was relieved I didn’t have to worry about characters dying permanently or weapons running out of uses. lol.)
        Take care. :)
