Fire Elemental Damage |
I translated all of this info from a Japanese Disgaea wiki, which is very informative. The Flame Demon is reprising its role as Great Wyrm from the original Disgaea. He’s pretty much a physical attacker, although his stats are very well rounded.
Other than that, Flame Demons are great elemental warrior. Be sure to watch out for ice spell, which will cause some immense damage with his -75% resistance. Likewise the Flame Demon has a 75% resistance to fire, plus an additional 30% if his Fire Body evility is equipped, meaning fire will cause virtually no damage.
If you happen to come into contact with a poor soul who is weak to fire, than you definitely have the right unit for the job. Flame Demon’s fire elemental skills are very high ranking in terms of damage, and his Fire’s Blessing evility makes them even stronger. Energy Eater will keep his SP full so he can continue using those many abilities. This should be especially convenient for long trips to the item world.
You can really take advantage of the Flame Demon’s base evility, Overdrive, by allying him with a Male Gunner. The Gunner’s Marking evility means that if the two participate in a team-attack, as long as the Flame Demon attacks second he will hit critically 100% of the time. This means an automatic 10% increase to his strength.
Check back for more info as I am always on the lookout for news on Disgaea 3.

Quick tip: Leveling this guy is a breeze if you have a Male Gunner and a Beast Master. Always have the Beast Master stand adjacent to your Ifrit and spam Wild Groom and Dominate on him. Hit the enemy with a basic atk from the Male Gunner before you hit with the Ifrit. Also Episode 5 battle with Grudge in the title, the one with all the zombies, is a great starter for quick lvling of your Ifrit. Zombies are weak to fire, and the majority of the map is on a single row of geo blocks with some decent bonuses. Stick an armor knight out front and have him throw zombies back to the Ifrit/Beast Master/Male Gunner conga line.
Hilarious little bit of info: in the NA release the Crusher magic change atk is called Burning Fever and the description reads “I need my doctor prescribed cow bell”. Classic.
