Oboro Muramasa Y?t?den Video
The kind folks at Vanilla Ware who gave us Odin Sphere are working on another title exclusively for the Wii. The game, tentatively titled Oboro Muramasa Y?t?den (??????), revolves around a young ninja boy named Kisuke (??) who has lost all his memory.
Kisuke meets up with a mysterious young girl named Momohime (??). Momohime was the tom-boy daughter of a feudal lord, until one day her family’s castle was possessed by the soul of a legendary swordsman.
Together Kisuke and Momohime must seek out Japan’s various legendary katana which contain scrolls that allow Kisuke to perform special attacks. Most of these katana are already in the possession of great Samurai and demons who are unlikely to give them up without a fight.
The player can use the Wiimote to attack with Kisuke’s sword as well as throw shuriken. The Wiimote will also be important for maintaining ninja-like agility. The player will have to tap out a rhythm with the Wiimote as Kisuke bounds from roof-top to roof-top or tree-branch to tree-branch. Maintaining a steady rhythm will cause Kisuke to move faster and stumble less.
The game is due out in Japan this year, but is still in the very early stages of development. Due to the popularity of Odin Sphere, it seems very likely the game will be making its way to America eventually.
