Oboromuramasa: New Video and Japanese Release Date

Marvelous Entertainment finally announced a Japanese release date for their highly anticipated Wii title, Oboromuramasa.  The date is set for April 9th, which is still a ways off, but this is good news nonetheless.  In addition to the news of the release, a new promotional video was added to the game’s main site.

The video introduces the game’s two main characters and some supporting characters as well as some enemies.  Many of the enemies are mythological. I noticed 2 different Oni fully equipped with kanabo.  There was also a kitsune girl wearing a leaf on her head, and I may be wrong, but I think I saw a few kodama. I may just be a total Japan-dork but I am really loving all the Japanese culture and mythology contained within Oboromuramasa.

The April release date is especially exciting since the time between Japanese and Western release of Vanillaware games is generally very short.  Both Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire were localized within two months of their Japanese releases.  Hopefully we can expect a May or April release! :)

To celebrate, let’s have some tsukimi udon, itadakimasu~:
