OMG Toys: Pokemon Time Plushies, Fan-made Solaire Hoodies, and iPhone 4 Cases

This weekend I spent a lot of time at my desk editing my Monster Hunter beginner’s guide.  It’s a long process but the promise of a completed product helps me push through!  Click here for all the details on how the guide will be distributed.

Being chained to my desk gave me a little time to goof off and look at things I want to buy.  Rather than reach for my wallet I figured I’d just blog about them!  WARNING: I can’t promise this post won’t transfer the desire to spend money on unnecessary but awesome stuff.

First is the plush at the top of the page.  The Pokemon Center in Japan just announced the fifth chapter in their Pokemon Time plush series.  The most recent set includes Gengar, Arcanine, and Farfetch’d.  I’ve always loved Farfetch’d for his obsession with his prized leak and stern expression.  While all of the new plushes are cute, I really only want Farfetch’d!  If you’re interested in buying some yourself, there’s a huge collection of them here.

Next is this Solaire of Astora hoodie.  I’ve already declared that Solaire was the most valuable video game character of 2011, and I’m not alone in my love of this cheery knight.  A movement on Reddit began about 6 months ago with user BenjiTh3Hunted posting a picture of a prototype of this very hoodie.  Like a true Sun Bro, BenjiTh3Hunted opened an online store selling each hoodie for the affordable price of $18.40 (not including shipping).  The inventory is currently wiped out, but you can follow BenjiTh3Hunted on Twitter where he’ll be announcing when more inventory becomes available.  Praise the… oh, you know.

*UPDATE* Here’s a link to the sizing of the hoodies.

Would you believe I still don’t have a case for my iPhone 4S?  After my Metal Gear Solid 4 iPhone 3G air jacket became obsolete, I just haven’t been able to find anything that comes close in style!  This case features the design of a popular brand of Japanese instant udon.  The udon style is known as tanuki, which is topped with tenkasu.  I also use Tanuki as my protagonist’s name in a number of MMOs and RPGs, so it’s not just delicious but sentimental!  Oh, and it’s green, which is my favorite color.  The iPhone case is sold through Genius Cell AKA Strapya.

Phew.  I’m glad to get that out of my system.  Did we both make it through without spending any money?  I sure hope so…
