So I have started playing Valkyria Chronicles and I am quickly falling in love with it. As a result, the demon living in my head is starting to demand possessions from the game. I accidentally won a figure of Isara on eBay which came in the mail just yesterday, pictured above. The quality is impressive for gachapon – her sidebag features a set of movable wrenches and a little cat accessory on the back.
Now that I have one, I feel like I want more of the complete set… However, there are some characters I can live without.

Here are all the available characters:
- Alicia
- Isara
- Rosie
- Selvaria
- Rein/Lynn
- Edie
- Jane
I have also seen this Elenor figure which is the “secret” figure. There is also an Elenor figure where she has glasses which is the standard type. I was kinda hoping the medic would be the secret character since she’s kinda a wild card character. She lacks a real name or in-depth story and only ever says the same line over and over. |
I think the only other ones I would like to purchase are Alicia, Selvaria, and Edie. Naturally I am not alone since these three seem to fetch the highest price on eBay. For now, I am just happy with Isara.

If you enjoy plastic nudity, or at least plastic that leaves little to the imagination a second set of beach-themed gachapon were released as well. These can be found all over eBay currently, sold both individually and in the complete set.
I will admit it’s not my thing. These figures just make me feel uncomfortable. If I were to actually display them at my desk as work (as I do with most figures), I am sure I would make most of my co-workers a bit uncomfortable too. |
If gachapon isn’t your thing, or you want a larger idol to worship, there are two bigger scale PVC figures:
The Alicia figure was released a while back, so is hard to find unless you look on eBay. The Selvaria figure should be hitting the Western market soon where we should be able to find it at sites like Play Asia, etc. Currently, the price is unknown just about everywhere, but according to Yujin’s site (the manufacturer) the retail price is 3,000 yen or around $30 USD.
| And if that wasn’t enough, there is also an uber-deluxe 2 disc OST. You can find it at just about any of the sites which feature Japanese media, but it is available at Play Asia for $31.90. I don’t really remember the music standing out in my mind, but maybe I just haven’t played enough.
Well that is basically how I spent my day today, scouring the net for Valkyria Chronicles goodies. I like to see what’s out there and then with that info decide what, if anything, I want to buy. |

At the moment I think I will just try and get some other gachapon figures from the first set I mentioned. Still, the Selvaria PVC figure is pretty impressive… Decisions, decisions.
