Phantom Brave Wii Port Gets New Scenarios

New scenario

NIS revealed the identity of the mystery character appearing in the Wii port of Phantom Brave.  She is the star of a new scenario added to the game entitled “Another Marone.”  They do look pretty similar, huh?  Note the hair color, style, and well situated quiff.  It’s eerie…

Anyway as you may notice she also has a companion of the fungi persuasion.  Here is a better look:

Kurone

Goddoerin

Kurone Goddoerin

Marone learns from some new phantoms who appear on the island that there is someone killing many people throughout Ivoire.  Ash and Marone go on a quest to find the culprit which brings them to Kurone and Goddoerin. Kurone’s name is kind of a play on the Japanese word for dark or evil (kuro) and Marone’s name.  Goddoerin appears to believe that he is a god, but I am not sure which of the duo is really calling the shots, or if they are the real culprits…

Walnut

“Damn, what have you woken up?  What are you guys thinking!”

The phantoms who reveal this information are some familiar faces as the image above may reveal: Sprout, Walnut, and Raphael. All three become phantom companions for this portion of the game. I could not find any screens of them in action, so I cannot confirm if they are controllable or not.

I sure hope so – Walnut is one of my favorite characters in the game.  I never wanted to drink cheap wine so bad in my life…

Phantom Brave is definitely one of my favorite tactical RPGs for both its story and unique battle system.  I am glad to see that it is being re-made, and I think pairing the playfulness of the game with the Wii is a great combination.
