Prinny: Can I Really be the Main Character? was officially released yesterday, allowing the masses to enjoy it. I recently discovered a tip I thought I would share with everyone before beginning their Prinny adventure.
This tip concerns a post I made a while back explaining that it’s possible to do battle with Asagi in Prinny: Can I Really be the Main Character? by unlocking a secret Asagi chapter. I explained that doing so required “collecting certain items.” I now know that those items are the torn pages that appear each hour in the base camp before selecting a stage. These pages appear on panels high off the ground and require adept jumping skills and a great deal of patience.
In Japan, a code was recently revealed which allows the player to avoid this step entirely. To enter the code, you must be at the title screen and have the cursor over the “New Game” selection. Then you must press ??×??×? which should bring you right to the start of Asagi’s chapter. I tried the code on my copy of the game this morning to no avail.
I am not sure if this doesn’t work on my version because it is a preview build, or because the code was changed for the Western version in anticipation of people like me ruining the surprise. Since the “×” button is the select button, once I hit it, I just go right into a new game, sadly devoid of Asagi. I assume that in the Japanese version “?” is actually the select button which makes the code make sense.
I implore those who already received their retail copy to give the code a try and let me know what happens! If not, be sure to collect those torn letters.
Man I love Asagi, if she were real we would be best friends and wander around pretending she was the main character and I was the support character.
*UPDATE* The password for the NA version of the game has been figured out. It is ??????×, when entered correctly you will hear Asagi speak and then go right into Asagi chapter. I have only played a bit, and it’s pretty challenging. Enjoy!
