Foxes had an idea where we make videos akin to Food Network programs with a wacky video game theme. I enjoy eating stuff, so I figured we would give it a try. Our first video which shows how to make a “Prinny Parfait” is in celebration of NIS America’s recent PSP title, Prinny: Can I Really be the Main Character?
In case you missed it, here are the ingredients you will need. I am listing the ingredients per single parfait:
- 1/2 pint ice cream (flavor and brand of your choice)
- 1 ice cream cone
- 1/2 cup corn flakes
- 1/2 pint fresh berries of your choice
- 1 fire ball
Anyone who has played Prinny will tell you that it is a lot of fun. If you ask them how they like the game a day later, they will probably tear their hair out and stab themselves with any blunt object in arms-reach. That is because the game, while sweet like ice cream, is also pain inducing, like the humble fire ball. The Prinny’s tendency to burst into flames gave me the idea as well.
Truth be told, initially I had wanted to use Pop Rocks in the place of the fire ball. However, finding Pop Rocks on a Sunday night is pretty tough and I wasted a fair amount of gas before finally throwing in the towel.
If you watch as much Food Network as I regrettably do (it’s Foxes’ favorite channel) you may be familiar with Rachel Ray. She is a former host of a bunch of dumb shows where she tipped people poorly and somehow got sponsored by Oprah and Dunkin’ Donuts. Under the reign of Dunkin’ Donuts, she totally sold out and talked like a child, using words like “fantabulous.” Just thought I would give some background for those possibly without cable or who don’t watch food TV.
If anyone manages to slap together their own Prinny Parfait, feel free to send in some images of your creations. If they look nice, I may just post them on the site.
If you guys like the food+video game+vlog idea, let us know and we’ll make some more. We have a few other ideas in mind…

SURPRISE Jink. you’re not crazy, cancel all of your dr. appointments
Haha! I knew I wasn’t crazy. If it wasn’t for those hours I spent masochisting it out with Prinny I probably wouldn’t have noticed it. Very funny video too, best 7 minutes spent watching a cooking program ever, shaky cam ftw. And I was pretty addicted to the Food Network when I was younger because I wanted to be a chef for some unknown reason. Rachel Ray was alright back then, before.. you know… she sold her soul for fame. I still love to cook though so I’ll definitely make a Prinny Parfait and send in a picture.
Perhaps an Oreo? Or some other form of cookie for the Afro? Depending upon how sphereical (sp?/word?) you want said fro to be, you could also take some of that Shell chocolate ice-cream syrup that freezes when cold, cover a rounded scoop of ice-cream in it and then place on top of Prinny’s head. It will harden forming a delicious chocolate fro.
OMG Sophie I had that same exact idea about the freezing syrup!! But we couldn’t find any
But it’s cool that we are on the same wavelength when it comes to sculpting prinnies out of ice cream.
Man, I am so trying this on my next day off.
Would cotton candy work for an afro?
Chocolate whip cream would work pretty damn good
@Sarah. Yeah we are. It’s cos we’re awesome or fatties or something.
lmao or awesome fatties
…
I knew you guys would come up some great ideas… I have
such creative readers. I look forward to seeing some photos

Hopefully that link works.
I decided to make a Hero Prinny for breakfast.
I didn’t have corn flakes or an ice cream cone, so I used cinnamon toast crunch and a banana.
I used a chocolate mint for the eyes and strawberries for the scarf.
Kabling, the parfait looks awesome! I like the red berries as the scarf (at least that is what I imagined it being). Thanks so much for giving it a try! I am glad to see that people seem to dig our new series. There is more on the horizon I assure you… Hope it was good!
Vanilla ice cream was a good substitute for milk, so it made one of the better breakfasts I’ve had, that’s for sure.
Glad to hear there’s more, I need to learn how to make more things and making stuff is always fun.
Gave the other part of the ice cream cone to the kid, (it was his dinner and also his school lunch the next day too, times are tough)
Me and my kid had a great time with this recipe! Even fashioned the afro from some black’n'curlies we found in the bathtub…that’s imagination at work. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank kotowari.org for providing me and my kid with wholesome family fun.
