Tekken 6 Video Review
Despite my previous negative comments concerning Tekken 6, I feel it’s safe to say I have gotten $60 worth of enjoyment from it, which is more than I can say for a lot of games this year.
Part of the reason I may be going back a bit on what I said earlier is due to improvements made to the online system. Before the update, going into a match was a coin toss: you were either going to experience crippling lag or you weren’t. If the match was laggy, you could either swing wildly and hope to be slightly more lucky than your opponent or just go get a Coke while your opponent goes to town.
Now, a pop-up appears before the match displaying the opponent’s lag on a scale of 1-5 (1 being bad lag, 5 being no lag). You can either accept the match or re-roll for a new opponent. This may take a little longer to get the fight started but is certainly worth it in terms of the headache you’ll be saved. Since this update I have had no issues and really can’t get enough of online play.
I admit I may be seeing Tekken 6 through rose-colored glasses since I am already a fan of the series. Newcomers may still be turned off by the downfalls I have already discussed. My biggest complaints again are the awkward campaign mode and the depressingly short ending movies for each character.
Another factor that will come into play eventually is DLC. At this time I have no idea what will be offered, but this could be another feature tipping the game towards a great title.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the video and thanks to @Sheentaku for the questions!
