Nihon Falcom has announced that their popular RPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky will become another title in Sony’s PSP Remaster series. The PS3 edition of the game will be available in Japan on December 13th for 3,990 yen.
The Remaster touts improved dialog art and textures:
Original PSP version
Remastered PS3 version
As with other PSP Remaster titles, save data may be transferred between the portable and console versions of the game. This, of course, requires ownership of both versions.
Legend of Heroes is the first in a trilogy of games in Falcom’s Sora no Kiseki saga. It follows Estelle and Joshua Bright, two young warriors who become Bracers for the Liberl Kingdom. As they complete quests for the Bracers guild they uncover a dark side to the very government they’re serving. Battles are highly tactical, featuring a turn-based battle system with grid movement akin to most SRPGs.
I regret having not played The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky since Xseed localized it in 2011. The game received positive reviews amongst JRPG enthusiast, earning itself a devoted cult following. Perhaps this remaster will offer those who missed it on the PSP a second chance — myself included!
